Knowing God 
Religion, it sounds so stale, so rigid. It’s become a bad word. The origin of the word may come from 'religare' which means “to restrain or tie back.” Is religion just a rigid conformance to rules, requirements and rituals? Or does that definition miss the mark completely?
Maybe the three R’s of religion should be real, restored relationship. Jesus said this in John 17:3, “…This is the real and eternal life: That they know you, the one and only true God, and Jesus Christ…” According to Jesus, we haven’t begun to really live if we’re just keeping the rules – we must come to know him for ourselves.
There is a joy in knowing God for yourself that has no equal. Join me each night, as we study the principles from God’s word that will draw us into a real, restored relationship with God.
